Appeals Committee
Special Exception for the expansion of the St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery - On April 25th the Appeals Committee voted unanimously to grant a Special Exception to the Catholic Church allowing the church to move forward with the expansion of the existing cemetery. The cemetery will be expanded by 300 plots. Land will be used that was donated to the church. The Appeals Committee granted the special exception with the following conditions:
No night lighting to be permitted
Hours of operation should be limited to 8am - 5pm - not to include visitations
No expansion of parking should occur
No earth-moving equipment used for the opening and closing of graves to be stored at the site
Maintenance and Upkeep should remain consistent with the standard that has always been given to the historic cemetery and with the level of care given to other CCAW cemeteries.
Landscaping and screening should be provided to delineate the property from adjacent lots
